Bugai-oogai-oogai... So am I correct in assuming all Weapon Skills are Bugai Skills, But All Bugai skills are not Weapon skills?
So If I take a school that says I get 1 Bugei skill, I may choose a weapon skill, but if it says 1 Weapon skill, I must take a Weapon?
A simple Japanese to English translation program translate Bugei as "Martial Arts" If that's wrong, blame these guys:

I am sure that someone that is better versed in Japanese History and Culture will better explain this better then I. "Bu" means warrior. Bujutsu is the "art of the warrior" and encompasses the 18 martial arts, or bugei skills, that every samurai will train and master over his lifetime. Bujutsu includes skills in fencing, horseback riding, archery, unarmed combat, and many many others. The elements of Bujutsu are reflected in and reflect Budo, the way of the warrior. All of these concepts and words are tightly intertwined. From the research I have done, everything in the Bugei section of the rules would be considered a martial art. The idea of a distinction between a weapon skill and a non-weapon skill is a artificial to the game, not to Bujutsu. I hope this helps.

I was fairly certain of what the word meant, but thanks for the support. What I heard was basicly what you did as well. Now what do teh rules say?

Rules say weapon skills are a subset of bugei skills.
Weapon Skills are Weapon Skills and Bugei Skills.
Bugei Skills not within the bounds of the Weapon Skill section are Bugei Skills, but not Weapon Skills.
If your school grants you an extra rank in a weapon skill, you need to use that rank on a Weapon Skill.
