Gaijin or non-Kami Magic
What types of Gaijin magic are there? Khadi magic according to some of the stuff I've read is similiar to Maho only without the taint. Is most magic "blood magic?" or are there your typical words of power and spell component types too that don't depend on the Kami?

Meishedo (how is it spelt?) done by the iuchi is detailed in way of the shugenja. It is a trinkets based true names style magic. It is exactly the word of power/spell component type stuff your thinking of. The senpet also have some jive sucker magic, although I dont think there are RPG stats for it. The Ashalan cast magic, but do so as beings of immense power (using shugenja rules) Khadi magic is less blood magic and more true names/ broker deals type stuff. It relates to maho in the whole pluck out your heart/cant die aspect, thus making one immune to taint.

Khadi magic does actually have taint, but it's not Shadowland taint as we know it. It's more likely Jigoku taint, and it doesn't control you.

The Asahina also have some familiarity with meisho (which may or may not be distinct from meishodo but which also has to do with drawing out the inner spirit of powerful items).

Meisho is about awakening the elemental spirits within items to create small nemuranai named Tsangusuri (at the first steps).
