New dueling style?
Lets say you have a bushi who is studying and wants to create his own dueling style. A player in my group (Utaku Battle Maiden) soon will have 10 kenjutsu and he studies with the Kenku. Say he wants to create a unique dueling style. What would be the best way of handling this? My thought was an 8 point advantage called "personal dueling style" and it lets you use your Kenjutsu in duels or whatever.

Even Mirumoto swordmasters learn iaijutsu. How can you create a duelling style without 7 in iaijutsu at least ?

I guess the Big Q is -are there rules for creating your own school? that's a popular one, as I've wrestled with it as well. There are enough examples in all the books so i think a reasonable player/gm could design a solid school, but is there a guideline?

The Way of the Daimyo has rules for players inventing their own techniques. I would take a look at them.
