Spirit Power: Humanity
This is taken from the Rules Questions: Creatures of Rokugan thread at the AEG forums. In the initial description of Shapeshifters it says that Spirits cannot spend void. Does this apply to Spirits of Maigo No Musha, Spirits of Toshigoku, etc? (formerly Human Spirits). I suspect that the restriction on spending Void was intended to refer to Shapeshifter Spirits only in that reference. Also If a Shapeshifter uses the Humanity power to temporarily become mortal, does he lose any techniques he aquired from the use of the Alias power because he loses all powers for the duration of his mortality? But would he then be able to spend void points for that day? - Suzume Hadashi The first part is simple: that section refers only to Shapshifter Spirits. The second question is trickier. My thoughts were that if you take a Rank in another School, you won't lose the Techniques, but if you choose to learn a Technique using one of the Spirit Powers from AotD, you would lose that one. However, those powers are simply "You learn Technique X." The Technique itself is not specifically stated to be a Spirit Power. It could be argued that you don't lose them, either. As a GM, I would say they lose these ones and keep Techniques gained through the Alias power and Multiple Schools, but the RAW are unclear. As for the Spirit spending Void, my initial reaction was that they still can't (animals and other mortal creatures can't), but the power states "While you are human. . ." and if they become fully human, they ostensibly should get access to Void Points (though they may need to meditate for them since they didn't get them from their night's sleep). What does everybody else think?

Adding my own question: I buy Versatile Spirit at Rank 5 and use the 5 CP to buy Large and Strength of the Earth. If I use Humanity, do I lose these Advantages?

Those advantages and techniques aren't listed in your spirit powers, they are written in the respective sections. If you turn human they stay.

Those advantages and techniques aren't listed in your spirit powers, they are written in the respective sections. If you turn human they stay. Correct, I think that a Spirit Power that lets you get an advantage or technique is instantaneous and can't really get turned off by Humanity.
