Superior Courthouse Updated
The Superior Court House is now viewable. It shows the architecture that I will be using to create the Revised Errata project. Each forum covers one type of mechanic in order to make it easier to find all the rulings on a topic. Each forum has an Index topic that links to the relevant thread in order to prevent topics from being lost. The first post in each topic will contain all the current rulings for that item. Posters will be able to reply and ask questions and debate aspects of that item. Anytime an item has an official ruling make for it, the first post will be updated and time stamped. This will allow us to directly post links to topics on JB that answer rules questions. The indexing system will also make it easy for new players to find answers to question by topic. This system also allows easy conversion into a single printable document that will be updated regular as new rulings are made. This document will be available in both html on the new upcoming joureibengoshi.com that I now own, but also in txt, pdf and rtf formats. Joureibengoshi.com will also have all the rulings on pages hopefully in a wiki editable by only a few people. Jourei Bengoshi.com will also have articles for the RPG such as the works by Okuma and Copper. *** Right now I am just indexing the main rules as making all the topics and indexing and linking them all takes quite sometime. Once the each of the main rules items have topics made and those topics indexed in their forums, I will need to go through the Law Library and start re-archiving all of Shawn and Rich’s posts. I am still debating if I want to cite all the rulings. I certainly do NOT want to simply post all of Shawn and Rich’s rulings into the main post of each topic. I want the main post to be simple and clean and with “narrative” rulings. I want the first post ruling to be “matter of fact” in nature. After the official ruling part of the first post, there will be a line of “***”. After that there is going to be a list of known problems with the item and possibly list possibly solutions that GMs can use. Important related material will be linked to other topics such as Kakita and Mirumoto Rank 1’s being linked to the skill swapping Topic, ect. Let me know what you guys think of the format.

It certainly seems like it will be comprehensive.

Kakita Seigi- 12-17-2007

If you want your welcome to host the Jourei Bengoshi's stuff on Okuma's and my website at www.kazenoshiro.com. So is the decision to go with html, using the forum, and then post PDF versions of the rules?

Doji Tsukaede- 12-17-2007

A friend of mine works at godaddy.com and got me the joureibengoshi.com name and I’ll have web hosting through them.

Kakita Seigi- 12-17-2007

That works for me. :)

Okuma- 12-18-2007

I really like clear and easy to checks rulings.

Asahina Inu- 12-18-2007

I think that this will turn out to be good. I was going to say that you should probably restrict access to making new posts in that forum, but it looks like that has already been done. So I have no complaints about the format at the moment.

Matsu Katsumoto- 12-18-2007

The only thing that concerns me is the fact that godaddy has a bit of a bad reputation with spam and stuff. But, I would much rather have a clear set of rulings than the current system of searching.

So I have no complaints about the format at the moment. Right now only administrators can make new threads, and currently only the Jourei Bengoshi usergroup can reply. Once the rulings are mostly done, anyone will be able to reply and ask rules questions, but I will remain the only one that can make new threads.

I didn't see the restriction initiatlly and I was like "This forum will get cluttered up with duplicate threads and other such nonsense unless there are only a few people allowed to add threads." But when I checked it was all in order. I really like the index system BTW.

Many things are not intuitively clear-cut in one of the category you made. For instance, someone that doesn't understand why Iaijutsu doesn't have emphasis will surely look in skills, but if he searches for the Kakita bushi skill swap thing, will he search in skills, or schools? Mike

Kakita Natsumi- 12-19-2007

Maybe will he use the search function ;) And it is not a big thing to verify the two category.

MikeIt would be a simple thing to add relevant "See Also" companion links, in the first post of theindividual threads, to make it easier to find the rulings while only having to post them in one place.

I am actually going to cross link such issues. So skills wapping with be linked to the Kakia and Mirumoto as well as other schools and effects that use it. Those schools and effects will have links back to the skill swappoing thread from their own threads.

Kakita Seigi- 12-20-2007

I think that's definitely the best way to go.
