Inu has gone crazy! I saw him eat that poor child! He claimed it was a Pekkle, but why would you eat a Pekkle? Crazy I tells ya! Well, his new icon is Spider Clan. He's entitled to it once in a while now.Yeah I think the Black Suit is starting to have an effect on my behavior.

I am not really upset about it any more, but I'm maintaining this silent protest against the way AEG handled the distribution of Race Points for this tournament. I'm not going to stir the pot again, but I'm sure you could look up the thread in the AEG forums. Also I kinda like Spider Mon. I used to play Sluagh characters back in my WW days.

Myself I'm upset they changed for the second time how points are counted.

I thought this was a clarification, of how non AEG people were counting it incorrectly?

Because their calculations systems wasn't the one they explained on the website.

He should now develop a (web)Split Personality. ;)

The Spider are indeed fraught with awesome as long as they keep it credible which is very unlikely (Naseru's Death anyone?). We know that they cannot claim great clan status without an emperor and in a land where history is as important as Rokugan they cannot really go to the other clans and say : Hi, I am the Spider clan representant. Spider who? Unless the got a credible back story like being a forgotten minor clan (like Cooper mentionned on the Story forum) with a covert daimyo, it will smell like cheese. Well in three weeks we gonna have their story piece which I hope will produce a credible covert for the Spider.

During the clan wars, most low-ranks samourais and peasants wasn't even aware of most minor clans. Even Toku had it wrong on the card age of men. As long as they keep it to low level, the Spider clan samourais can pass for a minor clan samourais. They after all don't know half of the minor clans existing.

With the introduction of Samurai Edition they will finally appear, and people can stop speculating so much. I'm simply amazed by the sheer amount of people who think they have the whole thing figured out before they even appear. Also Okuma, as far as Toku's quote, he didn't necessarily get it wrong. They comment on that quote in way of the Daimyo and they say that the quote essentially gives GM's a way out(and presumably the ST as well) to create minor clans for the setting that already exist as far as continuety is concerned. That doesn't mean that Toku was 100% accurate with his number, but there is a good chance that it was close. So when they decide they want to have a long ingnored or forgotten Pikachu clan, they can point to this quote when people start crying retcon. I think it was a brilliant thing to put into the game, because it basically tells the playerbase "You only see what we allow you to see. Just because we haven't shown you something, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist."

What I am just afraid is the way the story team will deal with it. Some of the last developpement are just too dumb for me and I my fragile faith in the story team which was destroyed in Hidden Emperor and slowly restored in the Four Wind era to be nearly destroyed again with the stupid tomb of shinsei is only hanging by a very little thread and a spider is walking on it.
